Brendy Barr is a specialist in news media relations and event publicity, with nearly 30 years of experience. She is an award-winning strategist of media relations programs on national, regional and local levels. Additionally, she is recognized for publicizing major local events that have garnered national attention such as the grand opening of the remodeled and expanded Detroit Institute of Arts and the historic renovation of Detroit’s Fox Theatre.

Before founding BBC in 1999, Brendy was a Vice President at the Detroit office of Weber Shandwick. She also served as Director of Media Relations at Franco Public Relations Group for six years. Prior to this, she was Director of Public Relations for Olympia Entertainment, Inc., the management company for the Fox Theatre, and Joe Louis and Cobo Arenas.
